About

This is a place for me to share my running stories, from the paths and roads of towns and cities, to the trails and hills of the English countryside.

Running isn’t something I’v always done or had an interest in, in fact it wasn’t until January 2015 at the age of 29 that I found a love for it.

Up until then, the only active hobby I had was playing Sunday league football, and what came hand in hand with that was a boozy social life, so I wasn’t the fittest I could be. Then, after accompanying my partner (a long term runner) on a couple of shorts runs down our local canal route, I decided to have a go at our local Parkrun in Doncaster…..that’s when I got the bug!!

From there my competitive edge kicked in, trying to be the quickest there and get PB after PB, and before I knew it I was training 2/3 times a week and doing Parkrun every Saturday.

Three months on and it was my 30th birthday, and as a gift from my partner and her parents I received a pair of fell running shoes. I didn’t even know what fell running was at the time, Id just heard my future father in law talk about it as he’d done a couple. A couple of weeks later and I was entered into my first fell race in Bamford, The Peak District…….I fell in love with the sport that day.

Flash forward to now, where I’m a member of Dark Peak Fell Runners club, racing every month and training 5 times a week. I have a real passion for the sport and love the running community, and I’m looking forward to sharing my running stories with you.
